OhioLINK, SearchOhio Expand Borrowing Privileges

OhioLINK patrons now have access to an additional 9.5 million popular books, DVDs and CDs, thanks to a new collaborative program with SearchOhio, a network of 19 public library systems throughout the state. SearchOhio patrons will also have the ability to borrow more academic materials from the 90 OhioLINK member colleges.

“For us, it’s a win-win situation,” says John Magill, Executive Director of OhioLINK. “We’re expanding the reach of OhioLINK’s physical resources to a larger number of Ohio’s citizens, while at the same time making it easier for our students to find the more popular titles found in a public library. And they’ll still be able to pick up their books at their home library.”

The library systems involved in SearchOhio include Akron-Summit County Public Library, Cuyahoga County Public Library, Cuyahoga Falls Library, Delaware County District Library, Greene County Public Library, Kent Free Library, Louisville Public Library, Mansfield/Richland County Public Library, Massillon Public Library, Mentor Public Library, Portage County Public Library, Reed Memorial Public Library, Rodman Public Library, Stark County Public Library, Toledo-Lucas County Public Library, Wadsworth Public Library, Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, Westerville Public Library and Youngstown Public Library.

For help with SearchOhio requests, please contact librarians at your OhioLINK member institution.

EJC Service Status on Thursday, October 6

The Electronic Journal Center (EJC) will be cutting over to a new platform on Thursday, Oct. 6 at 9:30 a.m. This change will provide you with a more stable, robust environment.

We anticipate the downtime will be brief; however it could take up to 90 minutes or longer.

After 11:00 a.m., anyone experiencing difficulty accessing the EJC should contact the library at their OhioLINK member institution for assistance. http://www.ohiolink.edu/members-info/

Thank you for your patience during this transition.
