FAQs: How Do I Borrow Books from OhioLINK?

Can't find what you need at your library? OhioLINK It! Students, faculty and staff at OhioLINK member institutions--as well as Cuyahoga County Public Library and Westerville Public Library cardholders--can borrow items from OhioLINK libraries at no charge.

First, go to the OhioLINK Library Catalog and find the book or other item you wish to borrow.

Some popular ways to search for specific items include by title, author and ISBN/ISSN. Once you find the item you're looking for, then:

  • Click REQUEST THIS ITEM.
  • The system looks for an available copy and selects a lending library.
  • Select your institution from the list.
  • Fill in your name and ID number, and select where you want to pick up the item. You can pick up the item at any participating OhioLINK library that is convenient.
  • The system validates the request and sends the request to the lending library.
  • The item will be delivered within several days to the pickup location you requested.

Visit our OhioLINK Borrowing FAQ page for complete details about borrowing through OhioLINK. Please contact your library to confirm your ID information. Only items that are not available at your own institution may be requested in this way.

New Literature Collection Interface Coming August 4

chnewscreen808.jpg

On Monday, August 4, OhioLINK will install a new interface for the Chadwyck-Healey literature collections. This should be completed by mid-day.

The new interface will present all 15 collections together, rather than separately as they are now, making cross-searching of collections much more apparent and easy. You are welcome to preview the new interface now.

This upgrade will effect the following collections: 20th Century African American Poetry Collection, 20th Century American Poetry Collection, 20th Century English Poetry Collection, African American Poetry Collection, American Drama Collection, American Poetry Collection, Bible in English, Bibliography of American Literature, Early American Fiction, Editions and Adaptations of Shakespeare, Eighteenth-Century Fiction, English Poetry Collection, English Prose Drama, English Verse Drama, and the W. B. Yeats Collection

These collections may be unavailable for very short periods of time on August 4, but no major downtimes are expected. The existing URLs to the collections will automatically be redirected to the new interface; there is no need for you to change these URLs.

If you have any questions about this change, please contact your library or e-mail us at info (at) ohiolink (dot) edu.
