Time is quickly running out to register for Ohio's premier higher education conference, ODCE 2008 - The Convergence of Learning, Libraries & Technology Conference. ODCE 2008 will be held March 2-4, in Columbus. Register online and view the program at the conference Web site.
Chancellor Eric Fingerhut will present the opening keynote, Shaping the Future of Ohio Higher Education on Monday, March 3.
On Tuesday, the Ohio Education Panel will examine the issues facing higher education in Ohio from structural changes needed to provide more affordable education to Ohioans, to a rethinking of the mission of higher education, to the changing needs of students in the 21st century. The panelists are: Morris W. Beverage, Jr., President of Lakeland Community College; Helen Grove, Senior Vice President and Provost at Sinclair Community College; Karen Swan, Research Professor and faculty member at Kent State University; and Kate Christobek, a senior undergraduate student at The Ohio State University.
There are still seats available in four pre-conference workshops: Introduction to Multimedia Production for Classroom, Web-Based and Distance Instruction; Redesigning Courses Using the NCAT Approach, Integrating Quality Matters in the Course Development Process, and Social Networking for Dummies!
ODCE 2008 will also include more than 45 engaging sessions on moving Ohio forward, student success, teaching and learning in the 21st century, and transforming technologies; technology exhibits at Innovation Island; Preparing Students to Succeed in STEM Disciplines poster sessions; a vendor reception and more.
Online registration is available until 4 p.m. on February 29. On-site registration will be available during the conference.
