OhioLINK Snapshot 2004 Available

Find out how OhioLINK is making the impossible possible in the newly released Snapshot 2004, OhioLINK’s annual report.

The Snapshot details the continued growth in the use of OhioLINK resources and services in 2004, for example:

• Filled online borrowing requests grew to 692,400 (see p. 6)
• Users conducted 22.7 million searches on OhioLINK’s research databases (see p. 10)
• More than 11.2 million articles were downloaded in 2004, with more than 4.5 million articles downloaded from the OhioLINK Electronic Journal Center alone (see p. 11-12).
• OhioLINK users downloaded more than 241,000 images, videos, maps and more from the OhioLINK Digital Media Center (see p. 14).

The Snapshot also includes stories from eight OhioLINK users which explain, in their own words, why OhioLINK is important to their teaching, learning and research efforts.

Printed copies of the OhioLINK Snapshot 2004 will be available at all member libraries in March.

Presidents to Discuss Future of E-Learning at ODCE 2005

What does the future hold for e-learning in Ohio? On Tuesday, March 8, four of Ohio's college and university presidents will attempt to answer this question at the ODCE 2005 Conference. Presidents Nancy Zimpher, University of Cincinnati; Valeriana Moeller, Columbus State Community College; Paul Otte, Franklin University; and Roy Church, Lorain County Community College, will offer their perspectives on funding, policy issues, student engagement, and teaching and learning.

In addition, free wireless Internet access will be available throughout the entire ODCE 2005 Conference space this year. All attendees are encouraged to bring their wireless devices and log on during the conference.
