Oxford English Dictionary Available @ Your Desktop

The Oxford English Dictionary (OED) is now available to all students, faculty and staff at OhioLINK institutions from OhioLINK and your library.

The OED is the accepted authority on the evolution of the English language over the last millennium. It is a guide to the meaning, history, and pronunciation of over half a million words, both present and past. Some of the latest additions to the Oxford English Dictionary include: crowd-surfing, labradoodle and phishing.

The Oxford English Dictionary (OED) is just one of several online quick reference resources--dictionaries, a thesaurus, encyclopedias, the World Almanac and more--that are just a click away from OhioLINK and your library.
