Ohio Web Library – Research Resources for All Ohioans

Did you know that more than 50 of the electronic research resources that are available to all students, faculty and staff at OhioLINK member institutions are also available to all Ohioans? This core collection of electronic research resources, called the Ohio Web Library, is provided to all Ohio residents by Libraries Connect Ohio, a collaborative effort of Ohio's library organizations.

Two new Web sites describe this effort. The first, www.ohioweblibrary.org, provides a list of available resources and background information about the Ohio Web Library. It also provides a gateway to help Ohioans connect to the electronic resources via INFOhio, OhioLINK, OPLIN and the State Library of Ohio.

The second site, www.librariesconnectohio.org, provides detailed information on the way Ohio's libraries and library organizations are working together to provide valuable resources to Ohioans. Both sites link to a "for librarians" page which features a promotional toolkit of bookmarks, brochures, Web logos and buttons, a news release template and more.

If you’re an OhioLINK user, rest assured that the Ohio Web Library resources are already incorporated into OhioLINK’s and your library’s lists of available resources. But keep in mind that these resources will also be available to you after you graduate via any Ohio school or public library. In addition, all Ohio residents, including your parents, friends and children, can also use the Ohio Web Library collection of magazines, newspapers, journal articles, research databases and much more. Visit www.ohioweblibrary.org to learn more.
