New System Answers Questions About Missing EJC Journals

Sometimes research doesn’t quite go according to plan. Like when you’re looking for a particular journal issue in the OhioLINK Electronic Journal Center, but it isn’t there. What can you do next?

Now you can find out the status of missing EJC journal issues thanks to OhioLINK's Serials Check In and Claiming System. The system helps OhioLINK staff identify missing issues, so we can notify the publisher. The system will provide answers to questions such as: has the issue been claimed from the publisher, what issues are unavailable and, when applicable, notes of why the issue is not available. An issue is considered unavailable in the system if three consecutive claims have been sent to the publisher without resolution.

How do I check for information on a missing EJC issue?
1. Go to http://serials.ohiolink.edu/search
2. Search for the journal in question
3. Click on the “latest received” link
4. Look for information about the issue in question.

The system does not identify missing articles, corrupted PDF files or missing PDF files. Please use this form to notify us if you locate an article, but the PDF file for the text itself is blank, unreadable, incomplete, or otherwise inaccessible. Include the article URL. We will contact the publisher to get a corrected file.

Unfortunately, OhioLINK staff cannot make any projections about when or if publisher will supply missing issues or articles. If you have a time-sensitive need for the article, or other questions please contact your library for assistance in finding the information elsewhere (print, or interlibrary loan if your library does not subscribe to print).
